The Kolkata Music Academy Chamber Orchestra is the best European Classical Chamber Orchestra in India, which is a platform for many talented musicians hailing from different schools, colleges and universities.
KMA is a common ground where amateurs get to make music with seniors and professionals.

Anirban Karak (Concert Master, 2012-13)
Anirban started learning western classical music in violin at the age of eight and studied sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven under the guidance of Abraham Mazumder. He has twelve years of experience in orchestral playing with the Kolkata Music Academy Chamber Orchestra and performed as a soloist in several concerts at various prestigious venues in Kolkata and abroad. He was the Principal Second of the orchestra from 2005 to 2012 and since May 2012 he has been the Concert Master of KMA Chamber Orchestra. Anirban has obtained First Class and was awarded the Alumni Association Merit Medal for securing the highest marks in B.A (Hons.) Economics from Jadavpur University during the 2010-2011 academic years. Presently he is pursuing MA in Economics from the same university. In 2006 he has completed his Dip.ABRSM from London in violin performance. Apart from violin he plays the Piano, Viola, Cello, Guitar and Electric Bass.
Anubrato Ghatak (PRESENT CONCERT MASTER)
Anubrato studied Western Classical Music, subject Violin and Viola under the guidance of Abraham Mazumder from 1997. He also did a special teachers training course on piano, guitar and cello during his music education programme with Abraham Mazumder at KMA. Later on Mazumder sent him to Germany (1 month) for a teachers training project organized by Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan, Kolkata in 2010. Till April 2010 he was appointed as a concert master of KMA Chamber Orchestra and performed in India and abroad. He is associated with the orchestra and took part in regular concerts as a violist, 1st violinist and soloist since 1999. Presently, he is working as a professional teacher and Concert Master at KMA and undoubtedly he is one of the best teachers in our city.
Bhaskar Dutta (Leader, 1st Violin)
Bhaskar is studying western classical music under the guidance and tutelage of Abraham Mazumder since the year 1996. He has completed grade 8 examination with distinction in violin conducted by the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music, London in the year 2007. He has performed as a solo violinist and vocalist and participated actively in all the major concerts with Kolkata Music Academy Chamber Orchestra in India and abroad since its inauguration. Presently he is pursuing M.A in International Relations from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and got First Class Division in B.A (Hons.) in the same subject. He is also an extremely fine vocalist and guitarist.
Rohit Sanatani (1st Violin)
Rohit has started learning the violin as a student of Abraham Mazumder back in 1998 at the age of six, and has since been closely associated with KMA and took part in several concerts at various prestigious venues in India. He has completed grade 7 examinations with distinction in violin conducted by the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music, London. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor degree of Architecture at the Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur. He studied classical piano for many years.
Dibyokamal Mitra (Principal Second)
Dibyokamal studied Western Classical Music with Abraham Mazumder, since 2001. He has passed ICSE in 2010 with 94% marks and ISC examination in 2012 with 91% from La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata. At present he is pursuing B.A in English (1st year) at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He has been associated with Kolkata Music Academy Orchestra as a 2nd violin player (since 2003) and a 1st violin player (since 2007). Currently he is working as a trainee teacher at Kolkata Music Academy (since 2011). He took part in several prestigious concerts with KMA Chamber Orchestra in India and abroad.
Binit Ranjan Moitra (2nd Violin)
Binit has started learning western classical music at the age of 6 under the guidance of Abraham Mazumder and later on with Ananta Makhal for few years. He has completed grade 8 examination from Royal school of Music, London in 2004 and performed in several concerts with KMA Orchestra in India and abroad. Currently he is pursuing B. Sc (hons.) in Mass Communication & Videography from St.Xaviers College, Kolkata. He is also composing music for feature films and adds jingles.
Tiyash Sen (2nd Violin)
Tiyash, as a lover of western classical music imbibed from his teacher, Abraham Mazumder. His passion towards playing the violin is limitless. He is also a student filmmaker studying Mass communication & Videography in St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Apart from music he wants to become a professional filmmaker. He took part in several prestigious concerts with KMA Chamber Orchestra in India and abroad.
Shamik Sambit Chatterjee (Viola)
Shamik has started learning violin from Abraham Mazumder in 2000, when he was in Class 1. He has passed creditably till Grade 6 in practical and grade 5 in theory under the Royal Schools of Music, London. He is currently learning viola at Kolkata Music Academy and playing in the KMA Chamber Orchestra. He has passed ISC examination in 2011 with 94% marks from La Martiniere for Boys. He is in the second year and pursuing Bachelor in Architecture degree from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (BESU, Shibpur).
Siddhesh Gooptu (Principal Cellist)
Siddhesh studied Western Classical Music, since 2000, subject Violin and Cello with his teacher Abraham Mazumder. He has been associated with KMA Chamber Orchestra, the prime string orchestra of Kolkata as a violinist (since 2000) and as a cellist (since 2005) and took part in several major concerts with KMA Chamber Orchestra. He is currently pursuing B.A in English Literature at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Presently he is working as a trainee teacher at Kolkata Music Academy and experiencing to conduct workshops with the orchestra.
Soumak Bardhan (Cello)
Soumak studied violin and cello under the tutelage of Mr. Abraham Mazumder in his school days in La Martiniere for Boys. He has completed graded examinations in piano under the Royal Schools of Music, London. He has worked as a Principal Cellist in the KMA Chamber Orchestra till 2012 and participated in several prestigious concerts in India. Presently he is working as a professional teacher at Kolkata Music Academy.
